Women are the Leaders of the Pack!

"I want to acknowledge all WOMEN, and the special power that all women hold - even though they may not realize it yet. I worry about the fact that my kids are growing up in a very unstable world; a world that is going to require some incredible pack leaders if it is going to be made right again. I believe that WOMEN hold the key to helping put our world back into balance. But they can't do that until men truly acknowledge and honor the unique wisdom and the leadership WOMEN have to offer - and until WOMEN can embrace the pack leaders within themselves. More than most men, many WOMEN seem to instinctively know that leadership doesn't mean negative energy. It doesn't mean pitting one person against another, one country against another, one religion against another. I also believe that WOMEN are more likely than men to act for the good of the pack. And like dogs, we humans need to remember that without the pack we are nothing. I have seem more compassion from WOMEN in my life than I have seen from men. WOMEN have taught me true calm-assertive leadership, and because of them I have become a better, more balanced leader in all areas of my life, not just with dogs.

Dogs are all about the pack. They are guided by an instinctual way of being that we humans can have access to if we simply say, "I am here to live every moment to the fullest; to fulfill my own life and to help fulfill everybody else around me." I owe a huge debt of gratitude to dogs for the values they have taught me - such as honesty, integrity, consistency, and loyalty. These are the qualities that make a true pack leader."  ~~~~
Cesar Millan

As a woman, I was immediately drawn to the divine feminine spirit within Cesar Millan after first seeing him on his show, Dog Whisperer.  In fact, I fell in love with his spirit and ranted about making him my husband. LOL!! Yes, I have the power to make him mine even if it is only on a spiritual, energetic level - for I am WO-MAN!  My spirit knew that he embodied certain feminine intuitive values that mirrored mine and that of the universal goddess spirit while I recognized that we were of the same tribe.  This is a man who is sharing with the world the value and beliefs that I carry within when it comes to dogs, animals, nature and our connectedness to them.

I wholeheartedly believe in and observe the symbolisms and the synchronicities that lace our lives on a moment to moment and day to day basis. With a keen, discerning eye for observing nature I hear her speak to me in her many ways.  From discovering a dead bird in my backyard whispering of the transformation around my sense of freedom or the end to an old sense of liberation; a flock of black birds covering my front lawn simultaneously telling of the death of the massive amount of people sacrificing their lives as the planes crashed into the twin towers on September 11th, 2001 in New York city; to my grandmother appearing in my dream barefooted and pregnant walking about in a hospital letting me know in advance that I was pregnant with my son.  I have many many more of those and they continue to be a part of my life - the whispers, the messages, the songs of nature that tell me stories or bring me messages from the great beyond.  They are like riddles or rhymes, poems or short stories and other times songs or dances.  Having had dogs as pet from the early foundation of my life, such an intimate relationship with canines continue to challenge my way of thinking and being, while fine tuning my intuitive skills, transforming and shaping my life and serving as a mirror of my inner world and psyche from day to day.  And most of all the biggest lesson I continue to learn from my dogs is that of unconditional love.

The formation of the Eco-Goddess Temple (world) and its underlying eco-spiritual and eco-sensual
principles - with earth as our mother, our lover, our partner - extends into the magical connectedness between gaia (all living creatures) and the human spirit, and aims to cultivate and nurture that powerful ongoing relationship that we as humans need to become aware of and actively participate in. We utter words like, "we are one", "everything is everything" from our deep wellspring of wisdom yet we have quite a ways to go to knowing, understanding and implementing its truth especially when we come face to face with the darkness of what we see in the mirror.  As humans we are constantly in search of a divine source, a god (spelled backwards..dog), a higher power, heaven - you name it - while we are completely oblivious to the fact that we are already standing on it, connected to it (gravity tells no lie), attached to it, come from it, return to it and are nothing without it - all we have to do is look beneath our feet, feel and breathe its aliveness!

To many these magical principles may seem far fetched, out of their league, jibberish, a foreign language they frustratingly detest because they cannot understand, while others may ignore, reject it or the filters/windows of the world are simply too clogged or too foggy to see and their energy field too congested to feel the realness that is already in motion.  Yet, in time it shall be revealed, in time it shall make sense, be sensed and awaken the senses.  But not until we clear the field and return to the womb of the female spirit.

This is the era of the divine feminine, the female, the essence of the goddess. And her powers, her love, her spirit calls us. It's not out there, it's inside of you - be you woman or man.  Koyaanisqatsi - a Hopi Indian term that means "life out of balance." and a 1982 visually arresting documentary by Godfrey Reggios shows, without words but through professional photographic images, the impact of humans and their technology on this planet. The message: the rise of technology has tipped the scale of balance on this planet, reflecting likewise in each of us.  This movie urges us to reconnect with the instinctual side of ourselves that is animal, that is our primordial divine feminine powers.  Westerners have already mastered the intellectual side. But there is also the emotional, the spiritual and the instinctual aspects of our being that needs tending to.

Without being in touch with our instinctual side we are dangerously unbalanced.  Our dogs (cats, pets, animals, nature) know this.  But do we listen to them or are we too busy trying to control them or treat them as though they are humans. Dogs are not meant to be treated as humans and humans are not meant to be treated as dogs. Something people in the west are very confused about because in most cases they are a substitute for the love of a human that seems so distant and hopeless. We can fool each other but we can not fool our canine companions or our pets.  Balance comes from having all four parts of ourselves - emotional, intellectual, spiritual and instinctual - in alignment. Just like our canine buddies come into existence with four legs to keep them planted on the earth. The good news is that there is hope! Our dogs, animals, nature in general can be our guides to reawakening our instinctual natures.  But the biggest piece of this scattered puzzle is that.... it is only through balancing our relationship with nature that we can become fully realized creatures of Mother Nature.  And it is time that men remember that they came through wo-man. 'Wo' being short for womb. Until men humble themselves to the divine feminine as shaped through their mothers, their wives, their lovers, their sisters, etc; until men understand what it means to serve women and to heal their women they will remain in the darkness of consciousness. The divine, ultimate mission/achievement of any man on earth is to serve and to heal wo-man for it is wo-man who has healed him as child and it is wo-man who has brought him forth into manifestation.

We are gathering together on a sacred G-spot of gaia with WOMEN, the GODDESS beings, the DIVINE FEMININE as leaders of the pack!  Are you coming? We await you!  I'm Surya! And I am the designated leader of this pack serving YOU! Welcome to the ECO-GODDESS Temple!

BEING FREE OF TV

This is TURN OFF television week in our home temple. And along with that is a 21- Day meditation that my 13 year old and I are doing together. Joining us in the meditation challenge (from her own space) is a sistah with whom I shall speak with each day to discuss our meditation discoveries and personal challenges. It’s a meditation of a few minutes, if I abstract the voice of the facilitator, but the value and joy is found in having time together for a few golden minutes each morning. The goal is to create a soul profile and the three questions are: Who am I? What do I want to do? What is my dharma (life’s purpose)? We are on day 2 of being free of TV as well as the 21 Day mediation challenge and so far so good.

Silence has always been easier for me than most folks that I know because I am a natural retreater due to my 12th house Mars.  Though sometimes to my detriment I find myself attempting to retreat from all of life – particularly the harshness, the conflicts as well as the realities of life’s pain-filled & painstaking moments.  Yesterday, I let out a sigh to my son during those golden silent moments when the temple was so still you could hear a pin drop and the beating of a heart. And even our dog appreciating the silence didn't hesitate to join in.  I find silence to be very delicious and empowering. As a sensitive being, it helps to ground me, quiet my inner chatter, simmer down the internal volcanoes and the disturbances from the exterior noises. But the essence of Tantra (which my spirit validates) embraces the polarities of life – the light and the dark, the up and the down, the in and the out, the good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly. This is what we earthlings have not quite understood nor are we fed this side of “oneness” at an early age in our journey. So we resist. We fight it. We struggle with it. We separate and divide ourselves.

I am a movie buff and like most kids my son loves to watch cartoons and sitcoms. On the scale of being television addicts, we are at the bottom of the barrel though I’d like to throw the damn thing out the window and actually did try to fling it across the room and kick it in the butt one time when I got sick and tired of telling him to turn it off.  It fell on its face and sat there for days. I was shocked to see the thing come back on when I picked it up to sweep and clean up. Damn what are they made of? I was secretly wishing it had died. LOL!! I do not allow news watching and do monitor what he watches.  Yet, I have struggled with him during the summer months, now that the camp activities are over - when it is so easy for him to rise up in the morning and prop himself before the television now that all the camp activities are over. I couldn’t do that as a child because I was not raised with TV. I was raised in Africa where we had black and white, limited television broadcast hours with cartoons only on Saturdays. As a parent raising a child in these times and in the wild wild west, I often reflect on my childhood and instinctively desire to apply some of my memories and upbringing. I see how technology can be so detrimental to the health and well being of our children and our selves. I am fully aware of the damage it does the mind and body alike.

Guns have some usefulness!

When one sits before a television or computer screen for hours it literally drains the life force out of you. The eyes (besides the sexual organs) are a major channel in which energy is leaked and lost. When that happens we loose vitality in all our organs - kidneys, liver, spleen, etc. The electromagnetic energy from the television or computer screen draws the life energy out of us through our eyes. That’s why it is considered magnetic and we all know how magnets works.  We see life through our eyes and we loose life through our eyes.

Telling our children that they must not watch so much television or play video games or don’t do this or don’t do that is not sufficient. We need to make sure we understand the process and what happens first in order to be able to explain this to them intellectually. I remind my child of the consequences and repercussions and how he is shortening his life when he spends long hours in front of a video game.

Beat the TV

Now that our one little measly television is off in our home, he is naturally driven to find other creative things to engage he and his imagination. He’s reawakened his natural drawing talent and his interest in magic; he’s riding his bike and horsing around with and torturing his doggie.  He was silent for a while yesterday and when I checked in on him, he had fallen asleep on the bed with two pillows propped up like a tent, head in the middle with chin planted in the mattress as though he was reading or looking at something. Checked in and he was off to dreamland. I usually find myself trying to convince him to take a nap. Not yesterday! I personally like to wind down with a good movie in the evening. I replaced that with us all taking an hour long walk yesterday after agnihotra. I created a new recipe of my own – a Mango Apple Salad. Did I say that I've been singing out loud a lot too? And I was glued to a book as well as paper and pen, with even more time for self-reflection and engaging my inner ear. Talk about the things you hear when the TV is off and you are surrounded by silence. With the current mercury retrograde in progress, I am really seeing myself - dark, ugly, denied self, fears and all –while gaining greater clarity of “Who I am”.

On Friday we volunteer together at a Yoga ashram in Bethesda where we’ll be gardening and bagging up dry foods for the CSA and where we both began our yoga journey together with Mommy & Baby yoga 13 years ago. Now we are having more mommy and child time with the tube shut down.

So who wants to join us in changing your life for a week with a click?

A Dream House that Grows!!

One of my private dreams I am working on manifesting is a tree house.  This stems from the longstanding desire to live in nature, be in nature, breathe with nature and to uncover the depths of my own unsung nature. The desire to one day build a tree house is greater then a childhood fantasy or the playtime of climbing coconut trees in my yard or building castles in the sands of the beach that laced the ocean behind my home on the Atlantic coast of West Africa.

This dream is about the desire to live in nature, to wake up to the melodies of birds and the songs and messages emitted from hierarchy of the smallest insect to the greatest of the animal kingdom; to tune into and listen to nature's voice; to feel the power of the sun through my window; to be consistently plugged into the source; to breathe fresh crisp healing air that I can only find in the depths of nature and to feel the essence of being in gaia's green womb.  This dream is about going with mother nature rather than against her.  It stems from the preservation of my childlike spirit and heart, as well as the desire, the yearning, the call to let go of earthbound encumbrances and be free.

Here are some inspiring images of treehouses around the world. We are at the doorway of  an era in which we will be forced to truly honor and respect the earth while we look for alternative ways to live and be in harmony with the forces of nature. Green building.....Tree houses will be one of them.

Be in the Fullness of the Aquarius Moon

From guest astrologer Ayesha Grice

Beloveds, it's Full Moon time again.  The Full Moon will be in Aquarius on Saturday August 13, at 2:57pm edt.  Aquarius is the fixed air sign that says "I know".  It's also the sign that rules the 11th House of Friends, Large Groups/Organizations, Sacred or Humanitarian Service.  This is a good time to look in your friendship circles to see whose traveling with you.  Are these your friends or just people you know?  Once in a while it's a good idea to clean out your address book to eliminate the names of people you're no longer in contact with, or the ones that you've totally outgrown (laughing).  It's also a good time to contact the people in your life called "friends" to let them know you appreciate them.  A friend is a person who supports your wishes and dreams (11th House) and who shares same goals and values.  A friend is the person you can tell your deepest secret to and you just know they're not going to tell it.  A good friend is the person that you can agree to disagree with and there won't be any drama on your part or on his or her part.

Aquarius is the sign that's detached, but not distant. Aquarius is the sign of Agape love...spiritual love, not attached love.  I love my Aquarius friends because they are never clingy.  Maybe that's because they always have a busy schedule and most times have no time for drama. Aquarius is ruled by both Saturn and Uranus, the signs of restriction and freedom, respectively.  You have to first understand the rules before you attempt to change them.  You have to realize that you're in a box before you make a decision to get out of the box. As Harriet Tubman once said "I would have freed more slaves if they knew they were slaves"  (paraphrasing here).  If you tune into the Aquarius energy you won't be able to contain the need to be free...to break from the status quo and free yourself from old an outworn ideas.  Astrology is ruled by Aquarius because the planets represent the spiritual laws and the natal chart shows the natural unfoldment of consciousness.  I think most of us know, we are not here to suffer, nor are we here to become comfortable with the status quo.  We are not here to become mediocre followers of false doctrines. We are here to serve humanity, to do sacred service, to help one another, and to become the best of who we are.  Evolution is the upwardly unfolding spiral and it never stops, from lifetime to lifetime.  So it is time to ask yourself where are you stuck in your consciousness and to meditate on the solution to get unstuck.  You could also ask yourself if you are doing sacred service or if you're just stuck in the selfish acquisition of material things.  If you're complaining about the way things are, then ask yourself what are you personally doing to bring about a solution.  If you're not a part of the solution, then you're a part of the problem.  Look at what's happening in London today...need I say more?  Can you imagine what would happen if we just got up and said "no more" to the police after they killed or abused one of our loved ones?
I'm just saying...

This full moon is coming on Saturday the 13th and on Monday the 15th is the first day of the 21 day meditation challenge sponsored by the Deepak Chopra group.  I did the last one and I'm looking forward to this one because it keeps me focused and centered on the inner wisdom and temporarily allows me to shut out the distractions from the external garbage, like the news, mindless gossip, worry, fear, doubt...garbage!

Here's the link, if your interested:

I always seem to forget to mention that full moons are also good times to be among groups of people who share similar goals and values, or to just be with a partner or to "dance by the light of the Moon". Enjoy this time.

Love You, Ayesha

p.s. From The Eco-Goddess.....I'll be taking the 21 Meditation Challenge.  Why don't you join me.  Let me know.

The Green Path of Mosquitos

I have been dealing with a mosquito army in a nonchalant way until two days ago when I came inside with so many itchy welts on my legs and arms that I had to drench myself with alcohol and then take a shower. When I get mosquito bites, I usually get upset then I'll end up going right back outside because my love for nature makes me easily forget her creations like the tiniest little black flying insect that can just about take the life of a big human.

Having a number of citronella candles burning and then plastering myself with citronella essential oils usually does the job but its so strong that even Midnite- the dog - will run away from me. I noticed that he is a main attraction for those damn pests. They hoover all around his big, furry, warm body looking for blood to suck. Lucky for him, nature protects him naturally because it is difficult to find his skin through his fur.

The back deck is my favorite outdoor spot, no matter how hot or late it is. I find myself telling Midnite to not wake up the mosquitos but I realize that the best way to get them is to reach their home before they reach mine. The dampness under the deck provides a cozy place for them to multiply and build their mosquito kingdom.  I'm waiting on my handyman to come and clean under the deck and to also clear behind the shed where growth is throwing a party. It's been two weeks now and I may have to fire him.

I came across 4 very simple solutions to this mosquito madness that  are eco-friendly.

1) Stop mosquito growth before it happens. The best mosquito killer is preventing them from arriving in the first place. Try to minimize or eliminate any areas of open water in your garden or under your house that might be places for mosquitoes to lay and grow their eggs (they’ll either lay them on the water surface or on the ground next to it.) Check out bird baths, old tires, rain barrels, streams and ponds, ditches, unused swimming pools, outdoor tubs, flower pots and vases, and roof gutters.

2) Everything citronella. Citronella candles are famously capable of keeping away mosquitoes. Burning one on a nearby table or bench as you enjoy yourself does a pretty good job of keeping the pesky critters away. Citronella is actually a six foot high grass that grows in more tropical locations, and which might be feasible to plant if you have the space and proper climate.

3) Plant mosquito repellent herbs and plants. Did you know catnip is one of the most powerful mosquito repellent plants available? Studies have shown it can be many times more effective than DEET. Another good herb to use is rosemary. Non-herb plants you can use include ageratum and marigolds (mosquitoes hate ageratum in particular.) Plant these herbs and plants in your yard and crush some of their leaves while you are nearby to enjoy protection, since the mosquitoes can’t smell them otherwise.

4) Use Bacillus Thuringiensis Israelenis bacteria. Known as Bti for short, this bacteria will infect and kill mosquito, gnat, and black fly larvae. Bti is very picky and won’t harm anything else including other insects, fish, birds, worms, or mammals. They’re easy to apply and use. You can buy them as a dunk to submerge in standing water, or buy the bacteria in bits that you can scatter across your garden. They start working within 24 hours, serving as one very effective mosquito killer.

The Way of the Divine Feminine

The Way of the Divine Feminine has been damaged perceptually as well as virtually. The pathway has been obstructed as well as the practices and applications that are natural to the components of being feminine or exuding femininity.

Bundled up in my sacrifice for stepping off the wheel of social media is the need to reconnect with my own divine feminine self - which is plenty in this lifetime. The war within me has been between both my feminine and masculine selves trying to take center stage, one up against the other. And it shows the disruption through the subtle and not so subtle shifts, tingles, pains, discomforts, and noises from my body. The voice within calls gently while the masculine vibes interrupt with the intellectual games of showmanship.

In a conversation with my friend Denise she shares, "Girl, I have been feeling rather sexual and horny of late." I need to get sexually active once again. I miss being that way. I think I am going to call up a platonic friend and cross the boundaries and step on to the other side." So she did. And just as her intuition had prevented her from getting into a sexual, fluidic entanglement with her platonic friend over the years, the evening played out in a way that made her think twice about honoring her intuition. Denise describes the evening as having a double edge sword. One side was protective while the other side was affirming. She said, "Girl, he could not even get it up. He laid in bed next to me trying to get his penis hard. It was so disappointing, so discouraging. I am aided on my sexual quest by the preparation of a man's visible erection. When a man is soft during passionate moments, it raises a red flag." Of course it says something is not clicking. His mind and his heart are racing in opposite directions and if he has to try too hard then its called forcing the funk. She went on to share that her friend has a vegan diet, is a daily bike rider and claims he practices a rasta lifestyle." Oh dear, I say to myself. Here we go again. Deception at it finest. I could see that the male and female world within the both of them was topsy turvy.

This is a case of the conflict between the male and female world. Clearly!!! For both my friend Denise and her male friend, the gender vibrations are not dancing in harmony and are not in sync. In fact, they are clearly at war with each other and not very comfortable with each other. A microcosmic picture of the macrocosmic universe. Denise, was not sure about her friend. Her body, her sensual nature, her feminine self aroused and excited, longed for communion with the divine masculine. She desired nurturance of a sensual, sexual kind but she did not listen deeper to understand what that entailed. And so many are strangers to the language of the divine feminine.

The call comes from deep within us all. The body begins to give off signals that it needs attention, that it needs touch, healing touch, it needs to be felt, it needs to be heard, it needs to embrace and entangle with another, it needs moments of exploration, it needs to be fed. Yet, the way that humans have been trained and programmed to respond has been the greatest problem and instigator in the war between the sexes. Reject your body; search for peace elsewhere; sex is the devil, etc., etc. When we feel our sexual energies moving, the first inclination is to act upon it. Get relief, go wild, get sexually busy. We have not practiced being still, listening to its message, its language; learning how to work its magic. We have not been given positive, loving images of sex. We've been given pornography, hard core, heartless sexual flicks and films. Where's the sexual magic? Where are illustrations of divine love making? We were not taught to dance with it, we were not taught to listen to it and make it our best friend, make it our guide; we were not taught that it is the masculine energy calling from beyond, desiring to dance and merge with its female counterpart, its companion in love... that is right there luring it from deep within. The connection needs to be made within first. Then we can see it manifest outside ourselves.

The art of tantra or sacred sexuality is a beautiful path for healing, empowerment and spiritual enlightenment once you get through the rubbish and mass confusion that the west has put over it. I mean every Tom, Dick and Suzie has taken it up as a career path, a business theme. My head spins. What happened to the sacredness, the spiritual component, the private joy it comes with? I know that people are still in the dark over what the feminine divine and the masculine sacredness really means and how it reveals its many faces. People still separate sex from spirit. And it will take a long time for it to be fully integrated into the human and collective consciousness especially since we are cloaked and even strangled by the masculine ways.

Having pulled the social media plug, I have been put back into this luscious abyss. Each day is filled with prayerful, enlightening moments that are arising from the depths of my own divine feminine wellspring. I am writing each day, I am listening more, nuggets of wisdom and high voltage flashes of light moments fill my consciousness while my sexual energies are breaking through the prison walls that have held it back. And just when you insert the key in one lock, you find that there is another lock to open up. I know I am very complex, so image human sexuality if it sat next to you and asked you if you really knew it. LOL!!

I now have more time, energy and the space to really get to know myself better with less time on the computer and the internet. I have changed a great deal over the decades and now I need to catch up more with myself and all that exists within my private world.  The Ways of the Divine Feminine that we have long forgotten....this is the chapter that I am working and living in my book.

During my research and studies I was led to the tantric mongoose - Shantam Nityama (once again) and he nicely captured a frame of the divine feminine way. As a bodyworker, I share very similar insights around findings with those who have come to see me over the years. Blocked sexual energy has been the diagnosis across the board. Underlying all their issues, their concerns, their imbalances, their pain and longings..... was and is for most........ suppressed, repressed sexual energies - a dwindling of the life force.

It is my pleasure sharing it with you....

From the Tantric Mongoose....

"The way of the woman is the allowing of light. Her way is transparency, receptivity, tenderness, yieldingness, availability, and she neither uses her sex nor neglects it. The way of the woman is the utilizing of pure intuition as a way of knowing. It is a knowing without knowing how you know and trusting that. Whereas the way of the man is that if he can’t show on paper how he got from point A to point B, then maybe point B doesn’t exist.

The woman’s way of perception is totally different from the way a man perceives. Her way of perceiving is greatly dispersed. It includes all of the senses simultaneously without focusing on any one of them in particular. So when a woman walks into a room she picks up on the smell of the room, the color of the room, the feel of the room, the taste of the room, the visual impact of the room. She takes in all of this in one fell swoop. She doesn’t have to go through each one of them. She just comes in, and practically imbibes the room on all these different levels simultaneously. And if you ask her about her experience of the room, she would reply, “Oh it was exquisite, it was this, and it had that feel to it, and you could just smell this, and everything just fit together so well.”

And in turn, she is also able to register disharmony and discord, which equips her to be a reliable barometer to let the community know when things are not as harmonious as they could be.
But in order for her way to be of value, the men in the community need to be able to hear the woman’s perception without taking it and twisting it to make it palatable to the male mind. Because in the process of doing that, he distorts what the woman has communicated to such a degree that it renders it impotent. It diminishes the power of her communication. For men to stand differently with women in this new place they need to cultivate the ability to listen to a woman’s communication while respecting her framework of perceiving, so he understands what she’s saying, rather than attempting to run it through his mind to determine whether or not it makes sense to his style of conceptualizing."

The Heart's Poetry

"The intelligence of the head is not intelligence at all; it is knowledgeability. The intelligence of the heart is the intelligence, the only intelligence there is. The head is simply an accumulator.

The intelligence of the heart creates poetry in your life, gives a dance to your step, makes your life a joy, a celebration, a festivity, a laughter. It gives you a sense of humor. It makes you capable of love, of sharing. ~ Osho

Grand Lady Moon is still in her new moon phase so I am knocking on the door of your heart before the moon changes her shape, size and attire and step into her 1st quarter dress.  The new moon is always a fertile time to plant new seeds and to create intentions and lay down short term goals you'd like to accomplish or manifest by the time it reaches its fullness. I don't mean anything lavish or too heavy for her to bring to you but I mean simple, yet powerful things such as changing a habit, letting go of an old pattern, making a profound stride in your path of healing, initiating a diet or changing the emotional patterns or weeding out the garden of your heart.

Speaking of the HEART. This is the focus of the Leo Moon that I'd like to help bring into your conscious awareness. So....how's your HEART doing? What's cooking in it? What do you need to do or stop doing in order for it to come into its own space of peace and balance, of creativity, happiness, love? What does the voice of your heart's HEART sing or cry to you or what is it saying through others that you are unable to decipher on your own? What feelings do you have stored in the compartments of your heart that needs clearing and sharing? Have you explored the shadows of your HEART? What are your HEART's desires or its ancient yearnings? What is its purpose? Have you been feeling them during this new moon in Leo?

During this new moon phase I am finding myself in the midst of prayerful moments that resurrect out of no where; moments in which I am whisked away by visions of my deep deep forgotten desires as I find myself speaking them into being, seeing them happen, shaping them and willing them into existence. Dreams that I put aside are tapping on my window, longings that I hid deep inside are tickling my nose and pulling me towards them. It's a reawakening of my heart's dreams and its long ago yearnings. My heart's voice is becoming more audible and distinct saying to me....can you hear me now? As I am able to say to it ...  I can hear you NOW!

My biggest sacrifice at the ushering of the Leo new moon was to pull out of the web of  facebook, to let go of the most addictive social media pool. My goal is to focus on my private life and my leadership role in my home which preceeds that of my public life. Somehow I was getting them crossed. I am also focusing on my heart, my family and my need to complete the creative projects set in motion by my heart. It is my modern day offering to the techno gods. (hehehe) Just like ancient spiritual tribes and groups performed regular rituals and made sacrifices, so it is that I chose to make a much needed one at this time and era, in accordance with my heart's guidance.

Oh the spirit of Leo is calling as it is this time of year when the sun and the summer season is at its peak; its the time when our playful, childlike nature springs forth and takes the ball and runs with it; it is when our sexual nature rises and splashes and is most aroused as our sexual/creative energies course through our veins and vibrates through our energy body and its extension around us. It is the time when we desire to express ourselves most and to take center stage.  Leo embodies the qualities of creativity, individuality, and pride, as well as fifth house themes of children, pleasure, and entertainment. The Leo New Moon period is the perfect time to pay attention to yourself, and revel in your personal gifts while cultivating those to which you’d like to give more attention.

So what is demanding your attention at this time? Or where does your attention keep drifting to? Mine keeps taking me down pathways that are uncovering my hidden gifts and moving down others where I discover more of me. It is reminding me that my gift of doing heart and spiritual readings is ripe and ready again and that I can now open up to sharing and helping others again. So if you are called within your heart to ask me, then please do so. It is also taking me down into the basement where I am clearing away old files, memories and rubbish of the past so as to make room for the the new.

I am also experiencing greater clarity and affirmative action within my heart. I used to be confused around certain heart related issues - who or what do I allow in, who or what do I let go of, where do I plug my heart's energies and where do I retrieve or recall it from? One of the trickeries of the heart can be the detrimental process of giving it away to everyone and allowing or permitting erroneous and external people, places and things to pull and tug at it. Decades ago, I learned a very beautiful and powerful heart protection ritual and at the time, I was momentarily baffled over the very concept of protecting the heart. But I soon realized that it is one of the most vital organs that warrants protection. Yes, we can over do the heart, just like people over do and have heart attacks, heart failures and heart diseases so can we over do in the emotional heart world which precedes and lays the ground work for the physical imbalances. We are capable of over extending the heart and I came to know that pretty quickly.  This Leo new moon has brought that up again and it has resurrected the people who have hurt me the most as they now come calling and attempting to once again suck my heart's sweet juices like a vampire in search for blood. My lesson is to offer a different response than the past. One that puts my heart first - honoring and respecting it as the queen of my being.

Since the Leo new moon and sun are both hitting my 11th house the currents of this house has been swirling around me. This is the house that stores the energies of groups and group activities; the house that  indicates what kind of groups you will be attracted to, and planets here reflect the kinds of people in those groups. I have Uranus and Pluto in there - whoo hooo!! Friends are also a part of the Eleventh House. Here is where you can learn about the kinds of people who appeal to your deepest being- the people with whom you most want to spend time.  Talk about shamans & witches, astrologers, gypsies, bohemians, rastas, people of eclectic natures, foreigners, outcasts, I tend to draw them to me and many other breeds of rebels and unconventionals.  I get easily bored and quickly fed up by those who are conformists and ass kissers, tight lips, stiff necks and tight asses; those restricted in mind and heart, negative and toxic people, those who are extreme materialists and are totally blind to and destructive of nature, those who lead and live superficial lives void of spirit, those who complain and bitch senselessly and endlessly. They may work quite well for some but  for me, I get turned off.

This new moon is putting its emotional, instinctive soft beam on the people that have been standing in my social garden. It's giving me the discerning power to weed some of them out of my life while others try so hard to hold on to me. I got a call from a man that I had to cut off from because his thought transmissions were interfering with the progression and quality of mine. On one occasion my girlfriend (he also knows) was chilling on her front porch and I mentioned it as we passed her place, his response... "She could get shot sitting there." She's not even in a bad neighborhood as far as I can see.

On another occasion, at about 11:00pm I said to him that I was going out to take a walk with my dog and all that came out of his mouth was..."Be careful, you don't want to get jumped or hurt."  I deleted his number from my phone 2 weeks ago. Last night he calls me saying he's returning my call from last night. DUH??!?! How did my phone recall his number and call him. It reveals no such thing on my call log. Besides, I see what he's up to. Let me go!!!!

Another man that I ran into after so long who began calling me everyday after I shared information with him on a summer program for his daughter took me by storm and made me begin to really pay attention when he expressed his fear of his daughter walking down the street and getting raped by someone. All I asked him was what would she do after the camp each day. His daughter is 15 years old and is old enough to take public transportation and to be at home alone. How in the world will she get raped or harmed in broad day light while traveling home from camp. I was totally sick and disgusted by those thoughts. We all need to consider the dark side of living, yet, we must take care not to feed it. He has no idea that he is bringing this to his child. My son is 13 years old and he travels back and forth to his dad and to school and camp by himself. I always place a blanket of white light around him and communicate with his angels and guides to keep him safe and always protected. I keep my thoughts high and positive, knowing that I play a big role in creating his life and well being as well as mine. Is this the kind of nasty, negative and toxic thoughts (fears & feelings) this man and others harbor? These are the makings of our world. Call me naive and overly optimistic but I do rely on faith and trust in the process of creation knowing that it begins with me. It was a reality check, a wake up call for me. I can choose to not have such minds around me.

This new moon brings us to the doorway of our heart, the heart of others, the heart of nature and the heart of humanity and of life. It offers us an opportunity to re-define love, to check and sort out the laundry basket of our hearts and the bulk of emotions that we all carry deep inside of ourselves.  It is the time to blend the feminine energies of our emotions with the masculine alchemy energies of our heart's fire. It is the time to be expressive, to let our emotions be free, to discern and to be loyal to our own hearts.

A HEART MEDITATION

Sit or lie comfortably in a quiet place, making sure that there are no restrictions by your clothing or any other distractions around you. Take about 3 minutes to settle into your breath, to find its rhythm, to ride its waves. Visualize your energy connecting with that of the earth. See roots growing from the balls of your feet into the ground. See your root chakra extending and plugging into the earth, reaching and fusing with its core. You are grounding yourself into the earth plane and plugging into its power as your would to an appliance or your computer.

Take a deep breath while imaging that you are breathing in a stream of bright, crystal white light into your heart center. As you breathe in, see it expand, glow and grow in your heart - with each inhalation see it grow from the size of a seed to that of a ball of radiant light- like the sun. Breathe out all the excess and foreign energies in your heart center you do not need. Gently follow with another natural inhalation. Continue to imagine that you are breathing the divine protective light into your heart center. Sit and watch it get bigger and brighter with each breath you take in.

Become aware of any sensations you may be experiencing during this process. Allow it, listen to it, don't hold on to it. Let go of any tension or tightness in any other part of your body. Let your upper, middle and lower body expand and be free. Keep your facial muscles soft and loose. Whenever & where ever you notice tension arising, simply breathe into it and let it go. (Practice makes perfect.)

Stay with the image of the white light expanding in your heart center as it grows and glows. Allow it to continue to expand while covering your entire body. See it grow from a seed of light you carry in your heart to you becoming a seed in the heart of its light.  You are now sitting in the heart of the sacred, divine protective light.

Continue to gently breathe in and out. Capture this image and allow it to be engraved in your mind and body. You now have an earth connection and sit protected by the crystal white protective light that is around you. Go into the world and on with your day, resting comfortably and peacefully in this bubble of divine protective light. Knowing that nothing can penetrate it, no harmful energies or lower vibrations can filter through it. See, feel and experience your heart as bigger than and surrounding your  own body.  Allow your heart to be one with the heart of the universe.

Do it each day to reinforce its energy field and to keep you and your heart safe and in a spirit of love at all times.

"Emotions are our feminine energy, our honesty, the absence of which caused the great imbalance we find ourselves in now. This ‘man’s world’ desperately needs the balance that comes from the feminine, and the instability we are feeling IS this balance taking shape – along with every possible effort to prevent it by those who have the most to lose as humanity moves towards openness, free will, balance and peace." ~ Christine DeLorey
